According to the IRS, Beyoncé owes roughly $810,000 in taxes and a tax penalty of roughly $170,000 from the year 2018. Additionally, the superstar owes 2019 taxes that add up to roughly $1.5 million and has also picked up a penalty of approximately $290,000 for that year as well.
Beyoncé Counters
The popstar and her attorneys quickly disputed these claims that were made by the IRS. According to Beyoncé, the IRS failed to disallow millions of dollars in deductions, one of these including a charitable deduction of almost $900,000 from 2018. Her attorneys go on to say that the superstar “has acted reasonably and in good faith” when dealing with the IRS.
Wrap Up
Beyoncé and her representatives have also requested for this trial to take place in Los Angeles. The IRS has not yet responded to the statement made by Beyoncé and her team.
