Tax Deadline April 18th, 2023

For the 2023 tax season, the IRS has pushed the tax deadline to April 18th. This is because the normal deadline date of April 15th happens to fall on a Saturday this year. The reason it is not on Monday, April 17th is that that day is emancipation day, which is a holiday celebrated in Washington DC where the IRS headquarters resides.

Even though the deadline isn’t until mid-April, it is important to take all the necessary steps now to avoid any hassles when the deadline day is amongst us. This includes getting all necessary tax forms organized, such as K1s, 1099’s, property tax bills, and more. Getting in touch with your accountant or advisor as soon as possible will help you avoid any potential stress that tax season brings.
